平庸與出眾

這裡介紹兩個人物，一個平庸，一個出眾。平庸的有那星公爵，他墨守成規，沒有獨立思考，是是但但，活在comfort zone幾十年，一事無成，典型失敗者。Duke la Sing 唯一的貢獻，是因為他的存在突顯另一些人的出眾。

Elon Musk馬斯克是時下一個出眾的人。 他12歲就識寫電腦遊戲程式搵銀，大學畢業後同兄弟發展了一個線上出版軟件Zip2，之後賣咗三億多俾Compaq，賺到第一桶金。跟往發展PayPal，成為流行網上支付平台，並於2002年以15億美元賣給eBay。

在2003年，他創辦電動車公司Tesla，Roadster 又是他的傑作，用鋰電池推動，賣得供不應求。

他沒有停下來享福，又去經營太空探索，成立SpaceX ，多年來獲得NASA 16億美元合約，承擔火箭運載任務。SpaceX 已發展可重複使用火箭，把載運成本大大減低。

他肯衝，不怕失敗，以新思維解決問題，向其目標前進。其實他夢想移民火星，覺得為此喪命，死在火星也是美事。

最近SpaceX 的Starlink計劃大有進展，掟了幾十個小型通訊衛星上天，獲得階段性成就，這計劃完成後，地面網絡通訊將無盲點，可與5G匹敵。

看來馬斯克正一步步向他的飛往火星路前進。

趁疫打劫

疫症未見消除，本省每日新症約半百單，商業大致停頓，獨旺超市及藥房。今日去增添補給及取藥，但有慘被打劫的感覺。

話說貪方便，多是就近往堅盛頓的Shoppers Drug Mart配醫生處方。醫生寫紙，一寫就100粒或90粒（refill都係），足夠三個月，不用大家煩。這藥房工作就是數丸仔，數夠數就收每款藥＄10.60。易賺啩，咁都唔只，這店經常存貨不足，見單收錢才取貨，間接病人資助佢經營。而今Shoppers Drug Mart 更要發災難財，趁機打劫，將90粒refill一分為三，只俾30粒，但又收手續費＄10.60。初時不察覺，呃咗都唔知，應真無良！

省府在疫情其間，特許藥房在病人無需見醫生情況，都可到藥房配取用開的藥物，目的是減少人與人接觸，這可惡藥房把原來配方一分為三，不是要接觸三次？其目的顯而易見，就係打劫，多收＄21.20！唉～

看圖說話

考試是一種篩選鑑別的制度。人生中或多或少都要經歷一些考試。香港政府中學教育有個評核試，話說通識就是其中一科。港府教育制度改改改，改到自己都怕咗，話通識係香港年青人動亂的根源，總不怪自己把一切制度改到沒有制衡。

公爵當年沒有通識科，只考中、英文，phy chem bi，數學，地理與中史。中英是必修科，肥咗就無得畢業。記得英文有幾個考卷，其一是picture description，試題是給考生一張圖片，考生就以英文講述圖中所見，考他英文詞彙，文法，思考及聯想。

看圖說話得高分的想必是「吹水」高手，雀仔都會給他吹了落嚟。下面一圖，你會點吹呢？作答時間15分鐘。

Examination is a system to assess and select. One must have gone through one or more examinations in one’s life. There is a secondary school examination in Hongkong and “general education” is one of the examination subject. The education department has made changes and changes of its system, to a point that they fear the “general education ” it created. It is accused that “general education ” is the origin of the turmoil of the youth, however, they never blame the government has changed all systems to an extreme that have no check and balance.

In the days of Duke la Sing, there was no “general education “, he only took exams on Chinese and English, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, geography and Chinese history. Chinese and English were compulsory subjects that had to pass in order to graduate. He remembered “picture description” was one of the paper in English. A picture was given and the examinee was required to describe the picture in English. This tested his vocabulary, grammar, thought and association ability.

It is believed scouring high mark in picture description is a skillful “water-blower” who can even blow down a flying bird in the sky. Here is a picture and see how you would say in 15 minutes.
